"Fish Therapy" in a hotspring bathing pool at the Sanya Pearl River Nantian Hotspring Resort in south China's Hainan island province, May 17, 2008.
The hot spring water softens dead skin cells, which are nibbled off by the fish.
Fish Therapy is also used to cure skin diseases, such as Psoriasis.

Those fish are carp in case you are looking for the type. They are neat little dudes that's for sure.

Is that a fish IN his nose? Gah...how do you not sneeze/freak out about that? Otherwise, this looks like it would be kinda nice.

I would, like, put  peanut butter all over :side: my nutsack :woohoo: and let the fish :X eat it all off there :0 while I rubbed one out B) in the water and watched my load  float over to some chick in there, too :silly: and she'd be like, " ".
Jadey   | | 2008-08-09 00:09:00
this looks disgusting.
i would not be able to handle a bunch of fish squirming around me.
are they attracted to the skin?
Omeroi - hehe   | | 2008-08-09 04:20:15
I bet it tickles hehe :woohoo:
jaybee   | | 2008-08-09 09:38:23
Do they have an "express" pool with piranhas? Not everyone has the time to languish with the little fishies...
A.   | | 2008-08-09 12:22:35
the fish are attracted to the dead skin cells and "suck" them off your body, so basically its a skin treatment

Oh, this is really dangerous if you have cuts or are prone to inflammations. This is the latest thing in Korea, and already people are warned not to do it, because these fish are not sanitary and can't be made to be so.
tim   | | 2008-08-09 21:24:47
to TJ,

you have to remember that the water is actually really hot, it comes from a hot spring, and any open wound/cut would if anything help it and the fish would probably eat some of the bacteria out of the wound.

I think it seems relaxing. I love bathing and I love fish. I've sat in the shallow part of a lake and let fish swim around me and sometimes bite me. It's kinda cute!

Ok, this is the most bullshit i've ever heard!..hahaha..."eat some of the bacteria out of the wound"!!
Something tells me you're not a doctor...and haven't finished high-school yet:)

I WOULD SHIT MY PANTS :0 :0
Anon - TO AJ   | | 2009-09-01 13:55:50
Actually, Tim's right. it would certainly work for necrotic or sloughy wounds much in the same way that maggot (larvae) therapy works in the western world. It's a gentle and largely hygenic way to do it, I'd just suggest cleaning the wound with sterile water afterwards as obviously the fish are not! However, I'm not sure how long I could stand this personally without freaking out.
